Purpose of Pencil (Quick Edit) and Wrench Icon
Pencil and wrench tool icon are the quick edit tool in blogger blog. These icons appear only if you are directly logged in to your account and viewing your own site. These icons are helpful such as pencil icon is used to edit blog post/page and the wrench icon used to directly rearrange, edit or delete any widget from your blog. There is a url behind these icons and these don't have an alt tag therefore some search engines or seo tool may show warning message of external link and no alt tag.
Remove Pencil (Quick Edit) Icon from Blog
To hide Pencil (Quick Edit) icon from blog post simply goto
- Blogger Dashboard and then Layout
- Click on the Edit link on Post Widget
- Uncheck the box "Show Quick Editing" as showing in image below
- Click on Save button
Removing Wrench Tool Icon from Blog
removing wrench icon is quit simple and easy however you should take your blog template backup before going on.
- Goto Template and click on "Edit HTML"
- Search for the following code
